Check Out Our Rotary Banner Collection
Santa Barbara Sunrise club members have traveled around the world, attending Rotary meetings on many continents. Rotarians from other clubs have come to California and joined meetings at the Santa Barbara Club.
It’s an international tradition to exchange club banners, or flags, when visiting a new club. Over the years, the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise has collected banners from places as exotic as St. Croix; Taipei; Quetzaltenango; and Goleta.
This week, we launched a photo album of our club’s banners. We’ll be adding many more in the coming weeks, but you can now get a peak at about 60 of them.
The banners are nice, but each one has a story — or many stories — behind it. You can help tell those stories.
When you are on the Flickr website and have selected one of the photos, feel free to comment about a banner. If you were the person who brought a banner to the club or if you remember the visiting Rotarian who gave us a particular banner, comment. We all get to be club historians.
This is a great way to remember our visitors and their visit to our Club. Also, a wonderful way to catalog the banners.

Great idea to feature a few banners at a time. I’ll be watching for Maryville , MO.

It’s right in front of you!
I have a collection of at least 50 banners awaiting to be put on display banner holders. A note to Lily Carey, see me whenever you’re ready to have someone take on the responsibility of getting these banners ready for display.
