  • She’s the Associated Student Body Vice President.  She’s also captain of the cheer team and a member of the competition team. They were 2012 and 2013 national champions. This year, in a more competitive division, they placed 5th.
  • She started ballet at age 2. She had interest in flamenco very early.
  • Starting at age 4, she studied with the Linda Vega dance studio. She liked the expression in flamenco.
  • Age 8 was the first time she danced to live music and she really found a passion for it.
  • The auditions for spirit include a preliminary round, and then interviews and more dancing auditions for finalists in April. The process pushes people as a dancer and as a person. They look for well rounded people.
  • This year’s Fiesta theme is “Honor Your History.” It’s the 90th celebration of Fiesta. It’s the 65th year of the Spirit of Fiesta. The first spirit was Leah Parker.

  • Tonight at 6:30 PM at the Lobero Theater there will be a film about the Spirits of Fiesta, focusing on five girls during 2009 and 2010. She knows she’s one of the stars, but she hasn’t seen it yet.
